The truth about crime on the Gold Coast

‘Armed robberies are increasing.’
‘Guns are prevalent on the Gold Coast.’
‘Bikies are taking over the Gold Coast.’

These are just some of the statements currently broadcast by media and journalist almost on a daily basis. But are they necessarily true?

Next Tuesday 23 October, Friends of the Library will be hosting ‘Crime on the Gold Coast’, a panel discussion with Gold Coast Superintendent Paul Ziebarth, Professor Paul Mazerolle and Associate Professor Janet Ransely. You are invited to join us for an interesting night of discussion as this panel of leading criminologists and industry experts reveal truths and debunk myths.
