Friends of the Library program kicks off with Building GreenPosted: March 17, 2014
Join award winning architect, Michael Rayner AM, as he presents the research and challenges in delivering the revolutionary 6 Star Green Star rated Sir Samuel Griffith Centre.
The Friends of the Library program returns in 2014 with Building Green, an insightful presentation from the architect behind the University’s revolutionary new Sir Samuel Griffith Centre. The Centre is the country’s first zero-emission, self-powering teaching and research building. Powered by a combination of photovoltaics and hydrogen, incorporating hydrogen storage as metal hydride, it is an example of genuine sustainable energy alternatives. The Centre is an impressive model for off grid and remote communities in Australia and internationally.
Following the presentation, Friends of the Library members will be invited to join us for a cocktail reception and the opportunity to network with industry colleagues and guest speaker Michael Rayner AM. You will have the option to become a Friends of the Library member and attend this reception when you register.
When: Thursday 27 March – doors open at 5.30pm for a 6.00pm start. Cocktail reception commences at 7.00pm
Where: Sir Samuel Griffith Centre (N78), Room 1.19, Nathan campus
