Wireless microphone changes ahead

  • Do you use a wireless microphone? There are important changes ahead that may be relevant to you

Australia is in the final stage of realising the benefits of the ‘digital dividend’, a valuable spectrum located in the 694-820 megahertz frequency range that will be used to deliver high speed 4G mobile broadband services from the 1st of January 2015. After this date it will be illegal to operate wireless microphones and other audio devices in the 694-820 megahertz frequency range.

This may affect you or your staff if you use a wireless microphone to:

  • present lectures or tutorials
  • film videos
  • use with a PA system at sporting or community events

All INS managed wireless microphones have been checked and if you regularly use a wireless microphone that INS manages this will not affect you.
