THETA 2015 SuccessPosted: June 2, 2015
THETA 2015 was hosted by Griffith University from 11 to 13 May and we made an entrance! THETA stands for The Higher Education Technology Agenda.
Over six hundred delegates, over two hundred exhibitors and sponsors, 1 exciting conference dinner, 1 intense golf game, and 1 cute little mascot. THETA 2015 helped us all to create, connect and consume over three days on the gorgeous Gold Coast.
Delegates enjoyed the warm rays of the mild South East Queensland autumn for every day that THETA presented at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.
Inside the exhibition hall the Lego ‘minifig’ build table was so successful that we were running out of heads and bodies! Hundreds of delegates loved building their ideal self or representation in the little yellow figure that we all know so well. We even had ‘free range’ lego that people could play with and build something to enter into the daily competition (prizes were awarded in the form of – you guessed it – lego merchandise).
Professor Jean-Marc Hero introduced the THETA 2015 mascot (who we named after our professor), Jean-Marc. Make sure you check out the TEDx talk ‘Know More in Sixty seconds’ about how The Survival of the Earth Depends on Frogs.
Everyone was so active on social media that the hashtag ‘#THETA2015’ began trending. It was wonderful to see so many people engaged with the content and networking with each other.
